Happy Birthday ‘Mo’!!!
Mariano Rivera turns 39 years old today. Arguably the greatest closer in major league baseball history, Rivera’s career is a picture of greatness.
After 14 years in the majors, Rivera has amassed 482 saves ranking him second all-time. In just 14 years in the big leagues Rivera has finished in the top 5 for the Cy Young award 5 times while being voted onto 9 All-star teams.
With 4 World Series championship rings in his pocket, what can you possibly give Mariano Rivera that he doesn’t already have??? A ring for his thumb of course… So I give ‘Mo’ one more shot in the World Series. Maybe we’ll see the Yankees again in the fall classic in 2009….
