Hillerich & Bradsby, makers of the Louisville Slugger baseball bat, are celebrating their 125th anniversary in 2009!!
To think that this incredible brand, and arguably the most recognized brand in baseball, has been making professional baseball bats for 125 years is amazing. With all of the advances in technology in regards to production, material management, and trafficking of goods, the team at H&B has withstood the test of time and are thrilled to have been in business for 125 years(and counting) and five generations!!!
A special website has been created to celebrate this occasion, and you can learn quite a bit more about the company and their products by clicking here : http://www.slugger.com/125/

On a personal note, most of my time as a kid playing baseball revolved around the world of aluminum bats. However, my fondest memory during my Little League days came in a game in which I cracked a 3-run double while using a Louisville Slugger wood bat. I had used the bat during practice many times, but never in game situations. I still remember and can hear that unmistakable sound of a baseball and wood bat meeting – WHACK!!!!
Happy Anniversary H&B and Congratulations!!!!

I guess there are still a few things that say “MADE IN THE USE” …
and do not require a bail out.
I own a few bats …
