1990 Donruss ‘Baseball’s Best’ Andre Dawson

This is the third of three Donruss Baseball’s Best cards I picked in a recent Andre Dawson ‘oddball’ lot. 

The design is exactly the same as the 1990 Donruss base set with the big difference being the border color.  While the base set was framed in a bright Red, this card’s border is a shade of Blue that could best be labeled as Turquoise.

And while I personally don’t care for the color used in this card’s design, I have to admit that Donruss did a great job in selecting photos to use in their ‘Baseball Best’ set.  For some strange reason they used better images of Andre in the 1988, 1989, and 1990 subsets than they did in their regular base issues…  Weird, huh??
