This card recognizes Nolan Ryan’s return home to the state of Texas.
After playing in the big leagues for 13 seasons, Nolan Ryan returned home to play in the state he loved – Texas. As a free agent, Ryan signed the largest professional contract in sports history – a $1,000,000 deal!!!
Ryan would remain in Texas for the remainder of his playing days. He spent 9 years with the Houston Astros, and then the final 5 years of his career with the Texas Rangers.
