Ron Santo 1974 Topps All-Star w/Brooks Robinson
This card honors two of the best third basemen to play during the 1970′s. Issued in the 1974 Topps base set, the card celebrates their elections to the 1973 All-star team.
The 1973 All-star game was Santo’s 9th and final time making the team. For Brooks Robinson, it was the 14th time he made the squad.

Paul Molitor 1991 Donruss
The 1991 Donruss design is flat-out terrible. You would think that they would have put their creative heads together to come out with a better design for their 10th anniversary issue.
Instead, they gave us this:
And since the image used of Molitor is just as terrible as the design of the card, I will wrap this post up with a positive.
Paul Molitor had an incredible season in 1991. Getting 665 at-bats, Molitor connected for 216 hits and a .325 batting average. At this stage of his career, he was primarily playing as a designated hitter for the Brewers, so his .399 on-base percentage was outstanding. In ’91, he also scored 133 runs, hit 17 homers, and stole 19 bases.
Molitor made his 4th of his 7 All-star teams in 1991 too.

Billy Williams 1964 Topps ‘Giant’ – Front & Back
I have 7-8 Billy Williams related searches saved in ‘My Ebay’. As I try to whittle down the list of cards that I need to complete this set, I have probably given other collections I am working on more attention. I will work to correct that…
And this is a start.
I grabbed this 1964 Topps ‘Giant’ card a few weeks back. Oversized and looking great, this card is in very solid condition considering that it was issued more than 46 years ago!!!
This is the first time that I have actually seen one of these in person, and now that I have it, I am very happy that I included this card on my Billy Williams checklist.

And here is the back. Pretty nice, huh? I like what Topps did with this - A great newspaper looking design featuring an article about his 1961 season in which he won Rookie of the Year honors.
I am really happy to have bought this card. It makes an awesome addition to my Billy Williams collection. Now I just have to find a way to store it….

Tino Martinez hit his 300th career home run a very long way from his home ballpark. The Devil Rays and Yankees opened the 2004 season with a two-game series in Tokyo, Japan. Martinez, playing in his first game for Tampa Bay, belted his milestone four-bagger against Yankees’ pitcher Felix Heredia in the seventh inning of the first game on March 30.

Catching Up: Milestones To Look Forward To During The 2010 Major League Baseball Season
We’re roughly 1/4 of the way into the 2010 baseball season, so I thought it would be a good time to take a peek at the milestones I was looking forward to seeing reached this year. I have kept the original post in tact below, and will add my commentary on each in RED.
With the start of the 2010 major league baseball season just 1 week away, I thought it would be fun to look ahead and see what possible baseball milestones we may witness over the course of the season.
And while 2010 won’t produce any new members of the ’500 HR Club’ or ’3,000 Hits Club’ or ’300 Wins Club’, it will certainly be memorable. And these guys will have something to do with it.
Will Alex Rodriguez collect 30 home runs and 100 RBI for a 14th season??
A-Rod enters tonight action with 6 home runs and 32 RBI. If he wants to reach 30 dingers again, he is going to have to pick up the pace a bit.
Can Ichiro amass 200 hits for the 10th straight year??
With 59 hits in 41 games, Ichiro is well on his way to another 200-hit season.
Will Dan Uggla smack 25 or more home runs adding to his record for second basemen??
Uggla ha crushed 11 homers thus far. Can he beat his career high of 32??
When will Alex Rodriguez hit his 17th homer of the season putting him in the ’600 HR Club’?
Just 11 more dingers and A-Rod joins the ’600 HR Club’.
How soon will Johnny Damon collect 75 hits and enter the ’2,500 Hits Club’?
Damon has 42 hits this season, needed just 33 more to reach this mark. July seems like the right time!
How fast will Chipper Jones tally 94 hits and join the ’2,500 Hits Club’?
Chipper Jones has amassed just 25 hits so far this year. He’ll get into the ’2,500 Hits Club’ but it may be later than when I originally expected.
Will Ken Griffey Jr. hit 30 home runs and tie Willie Mays with 660?
No chance!! Griffey has yet to deliver a single long-ball this season. Still he will rank among the top of the all-time list.
Can Andruw Jones regain his home run swing and join the ’400 HR Club’ by connecting for 12 dingers?
3 round-trippers is all that separates Andruw Jones and the ’400 HR Club’.
How fast will Trevor Hoffman amass 9 saves and become the first member of the ’600 Saves Club’?
Hoffman has been horrible this season. He is 1-3 with 5 saves and 5 blown saves. He needs just 4 saves to collect #600, but I don’t think that too many more chances will come after he eclipses that mark…
As you can see, there are some wonderful storylines to look forward to during the upcoming season.
Pretty good stuff so far as we pass the 40-game mark of the 2010 season. I’ll do another report during the All-star break. I imagine that 2-3 of these milestones will have been eclipsed by that point!!

Jim Palmer 1976 Topps League Leader
This card comes from the 1976 Topps baseball set and features the American League Leaders in victories from the 1975 baseball season.
During that season, Palmer was tied for the league lead with Jim ‘Catfish’ Hunter. Each pitcher had 23 victories for their team. Vida Blue was not far behind with 22 wins for the A’s.
That ’75 campaign resulted in Palmer winning his second Cy Young award. Along with his 23 wins, Palmer threw 25 complete games, including 10 shutouts. In 39 appearances(38 starts), Palmer pitched 323 innings and compiled an ERA of just 2.09.
1975 Topps Cincinnati Reds Teams Set – Card #622 – Ed Armbrister
More commonly known around the hobby as Fred Lynn’s rookie card, this card from the 1975 Topps set is also the first card featuring Reds’ outfielder Ed Armbrister.
A 5-year veteran that spent his full career with the Reds, Armbrister was used as a utility player for the team. A decent hitter with good speed, Armbrister is a career .245 hitter. He tallied 65 hits during his career while scoring 46 runs and stealing 15 bases.
Armbrister was part of the Reds’ championship roster for the 1975 World Series.
