Dave Winfield 2012 Topps Gypsy Queen
It seems like I cannot keep my sh^t straight lately…
As I try to keep my collecting focus as straight as possible, I am getting derailed often.
Here is the proof in the pudding:
Just a few short weeks ago, I declared that I only wanted to collect cards of Dave Winfield in which he was wearing his Padres or Yankees uniform. And then I go and scoop up the card featured above… What am I going to do with myself?? Luckily, it only cost me a quarter, but I really need to try to stick to my guns going forward…
It’s not that I don’t care for the time that Winfield spent in Toronto or Cleveland – heel with the Blue Jays he captured his lone World Series win and with the Indians he hit the 3,000th hit of his career.
It’s just that I like to recapture the memories from my youth. And my youth was full of Winfield winning Gold Gloves and smacking home runs as a member of the Padres and Yankees!!
Time to re-focus… Again!
