Eric Davis 1989 Score
If I had to put money on it, I would say that Eric Davis just connected for one in Shea Stadium.
Davis hit 34 home runs during the 1989 baseball season, but since this picture had to be taken prior to the start of the ’89 campaign, I guess that I will not knw for sure…
Still, it looks like a homer!!!

Definatley a home run. I used to work w/ former STL Cardinals pitcher & he face Eric Davis in 1989. I asked him how that went & he told me Davis took him yard more than once. He said one of the homers he hit still hasn’t landed. Lol
I don’t think that’s a home run, I looked at his1988 game logs and he didn’t hit any in day games at shea.
On another note that card shows both the good and bad aspects of score cards from the late 80s, they typically had better photography than anyone else except for upper deck, had simple but colorful designs, the best card backs of any brand, and were printed on better card stock than most of the other (again except for upper deck) and didn’t cost any more than Topps fleer or donruss. The problem with them was they made no effort to make the color of the card match the photo or the team colors, imagine how good that cards would look with a red boarder rather than the green. Jimmy Key’s card that year is a case where the boarder and the photo match up really well.
