1964 Topps Chicago Cubs Team Card
It has been slow going with my Billy Williams collection.
And while I will not chalk it up to losing interest in finishing this player collection, I think that with all of the newly released cards, I simply have other players on my mind more often.
But, I will finish this set. It was one of the first goals that I set before myself when this blog was started in August, 2008.
This is the 1964 Topps Chicago Cubs team card. I believe that Williams is sitting in the second row, second from the left.

The 1964 Cubs also included a young Lou Brock, who was traded away for the worst possible reason that year. It certainly helped the Cardinals out, but the Cubs got all the bad karma they deserved from the deal. Here’s a post, if you’re interested: http://bluebattinghelmet.wordpress.com/2011/11/27/revisiting-brock-for-broglio/
All the best to you.
Rob
That might actually be Brock in the second row, now that I look at it. Williams might be in the back row instead.
Brian,
I hate to bring you some bad news, but the team picture on the ’64 card is the same one Topps used on the ’60 card. That would mean its a picture of the 1959 Cubs…no Billy Williams, no Lou Brock, no Ron Santo. Shame on Topps for using such an old picture.

Paul, I knew that you would have the difinitive answer. Not the one I was looking for, but it certainly leads to closure.. Thanks.
