In what’s one of the biggest trades in recent history, the Marlins are on the verge of sending shortstop Jose Reyes, left-hander Mark Buehrle, right-hander Josh Johnson and catcher John Buck to the Blue Jays in exchange for a package of young players.
Among the young players reportedly headed to Miami are shortstops Yunel Escobar and Adeiny Hechavarria, right-hander Henderson Alvarez and minor-league left-hander Justin Nicolino.
CBSSports.com Insider Jon Heyman confirms the original reporting of FOXSports.com’s Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi.

My favorite player, Emilio Bonifacio supposed to go too. I am SOOOO upset!!!!!
Just saw the news break… and I thought Bob Nutting COO of the Pirates was baseball’s biggest douchebag…
Being an Orioles’ fan, I’ve been through some really lean times and I thought the Orioles’ owner was horrible, but the Marlins ownership clearly takes the cake. This ownership group has pretty much killed MLB in Miami.
I’m done being a Marlins fan…… Tampa Bay sucks too…..What team to pick?
The Marlins might not be around too much longer.
Sucks. I guess they had to do something after spending all of that money and finishing in last place.
moe.
@ wickedortega – You can always follow the Jays..(Sorry..couldn’t resist)
