Hank Aaron 2000 Upper Deck ‘Epic Performance’
I love the theme of the card, but the execution is just a but too busy for my liking…
This card comes from the 2000 Upper Deck ‘Epic Performance’ set and it features the great Hank Aaron.
I like the overall look of the card, and I can never get enough of that vintage Braves uniform that Aaron is sporting in the photo that was used for the card. The gold stamping adds a nice touch of royalty to the card, and it works when showcasing a card of Aaron.
It’s the repeated ‘Incredible’ and ‘Awesome’ that pours down the right-side of the card that is just a bit too much for me. Yes, Hank Aaron was incredible. And yes, he was awesome. But, do I need to see it presented in that manner 33 times on the card’s front??

I can see why they included…an abundance…of text on the right side of the card, as it does balance out the UD Logo and other silver design elements on the left, but you’re right: that’s overboard. However, the color-scheme of the card and Aaron’s uniform are phenomenal. Squinting kinda helps…
