My 55th Marlins Team Set Caused Me To Add A 2nd Binder To The Collection….

I knew that this day was coming, I just did not know that it would come so soon.

I have collected 55 different Marlins team sets thus far, and that number is just too large to be held by a single 3-ring binder.

As you can see, my current binder was starting to outgrow its intended use.

Marlins Album 1

So, on the way to work this morning, I made a quick detour and stopped at the Wal-Mart that is nestled perfectly between my son’s school and my workplace.

I picked up another binder and immediately got to work to make this a more manageable situation.

I opted for a Black binder, to stay true to the origin of my Marlins passion.

Here is what my team set collection looks like now:

Marlins album 2

A lot easier to handle, and a lot lighter too!

The sets are still in year order, and then alphabetized by brand.  I opted to make a split pretty much went right down the middle.  This allows for me to still go after everything I want and expand my collection the way that I intend to.

Oh, and since you know that I am super-organized, I had to go the extra step by tagging these two albums properly!!!

Marlins album 3

As this collection grows, another album is sure to come.

Hopefully I can find an Orange or Teal one!!

  1. I don’t think I want to say how many Dodger binders I have.

  2. Yup. I’ll go and count …

    16. And a couple of those are overstuffed.

  3. You’re putting together quite a collection. Keep it up!

  4. They’re organized by year, then by manufacturer, then by set, then by player. I don’t know if that’s uber-organized. Pretty traditional.

Pretty impressive Brian. Reading the above posts got me thinking about my Pirates and Marlins’ binders. I have 18 Pirates, and 12 Marlins’ binders, and that is just doubles of everything I have for sets, as I am a set builder first and foremost. I then have all my triples, in two 5,000 count boxes for each team. Like nighttimeowl, mine are organized by year, alphabetically by set, and then numerically. This helps me keep track of which ones I need for my sets and then for my team sets as well. Speaking of which, do you have any Marlins singles you wish to trade Brian, as I have my collection inventoried now and know which ones I need. If not, no big deal. I am referring mostly to older ones.
