Baseball Card Show Purchase #8 – Ken Griffey, Jr. 2002 Donruss Originals – 1986 Donruss Design
Like the Dwight Gooden baseball card that I showed you a few hours ago, I also fell upon this card of Ken Griffey Jr. from the same 2002 Donruss Originals set.
And like the Gooden, I was not going to pass up the chance at bringing this one into my collection as well.

The card uses the 1986 Donruss baseball card design; a design that I have been fairly critical of as I don’t find it appealing at all.
That is until now!!! The Griffey card from this 2002 set is better than ANY of the originals from 1986. The colors are sharp. The action is strong. And the horizontal strips that make up the frame of the card are not a huge distraction.
2002 Donruss Originals is a really great underrated set! A lot of solid cards.
