Andre Dawson 2013 Topps Silver Slugger 1987 National League Commemorative Card w/Metal Bat Insert
When the 2013 Topps checklist began circulating on the web, I was immediately drawn to one particular card from the set.
The card was not part of the base set, and would not be easily attainable. And without even seeing a scan of the card, I knew that I would do everything needed to bring one home.
The card features Andre Dawson and it commemorates his Silver Slugger winning campaign of 1987. As you can see in the scan below, the card looks fantastic. It features a very heavy metal bat insert that looks just like a real Silver Slugger Award.

The set features just 25 players, both old and current. I am really happy that Andre was included in this set, as this card is a fantastic addition to my Dawson collection.

Pulled a few of those Silver Slugger cards from my S1 case break. Those suckers are MONSTERS. How are you storing yours?
Topher- When pulling that card, was it the only one in the pack? Just curious, because as you mentioned, it is thick! As for storage, I am not sure just yet. The seller sandwiched it in between 2 top loaders. I may have a hard plastic case that will hold it…
They were jumbo packs, but it was VERY obvious which packs had them.
