Mark Gubicza Autograph Through The Mail Success

11 days was all it took to get back these 2 baseball cards signed by former pitcher for the Kansas City Royals, Mark Gubicza.

I’ve always enjoyed ‘Gub’s’ personality and have listened to him on Fox Sports Radio for several years.  He is an extremely funny and honest person and some of the stories he has shared with his listeners over the last few years are nothing short of hilarious!!

Thanks for the memories and the great, signed cards ‘Gub’!!!

A few weeks ago Dave from the Fielder’s Choice Baseball Card Blog posted his updated want lists.  To my surprise I had a few cards he needed that I pulled from some packs of 2008 Topps that I had bought but had no need for.  I happily offered these up to Dave and below was his gesture of gratefulness.

3 more cards for my 1983 Topps Super Veteran set – Bruce Sutter, Phil Neikro, and Rollie Fingers.

Thanks Dave!!!

Happy Birthday Roberto Alomar!!!

That’s right, Roberto Alomar turns 41 years old today.

With very little publicity, Roberto Alomar had an incredible 17-season career.  With a lifetime batting average of .300 alongside his 2,724 hits, Alomar was a great contact hitter and threat while on the basepaths.  Alomar has 474 stolen bases to his credit and has scored 1,508 runs over the course of his career.

It seems like ‘Robby’ is destinted for Cooperstown.  So here is what I give Alomar for his birthday – A new trophy case to display his : 12 consecutive all-star game appearances, 4 Silver Slugger awards, 10 Gold Gloves, and 2 World Series championship rings.  I think that this gift is fitting, and I will be sure to leave a little room for his Hall of Fame plaque too!!

Happy Birthday ‘Robby’!!!
