New Book To Read – ‘Armchair Reader – Grand Slam Baseball’

I got this book for my birthday a few months ago and just cracked it open this week.  I always have a book around and I am finally getting  to this one, even if it’s a few months later than I had planned.

Published in 2007, the content of the book is pretty accurate and is only missing details and stats from the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

With 468 pages chock-full of baseball stories, quotes, anecdotes, and trivia, I am excited to get into it and see what new things I can pick up about our beloved sport.  I also thought that this would be a great way to share some interesting tidbits from the book with you as I check out the content of these 468 pages.  I have added a new category to ’30-Year Old Cardboard’ called ‘Did You Know…’ and will periodically post some fact, stories, and trivia questions that I found in the book that I felt were worthy of sharing.

Stay tuned as the first ‘Did You Know…’ should hit the site in the coming days.

2 Contest Winners – LA Dodgers & St. Louis Catdinals!!!

We have a winner – 2 actually.

Both the Dodgers and Cardinals picked up their 12th win of the season last night which means that both Burnseez and Albuqwirke get to take their pick of which autographed card they would like to  add to their collections.

Congratulations to the 2 of you!!!!  And ‘Thank You’ to everyone who played!!!!

Stay tuned as 30-Year Old Cardboard’s next contest is right around the corner…
