Did You Know…

In 1981, Rollie Fingers of the Milwaukee Brewers became the first relief pitcher to win the American League Most Valuable Player Award.  He also won the Cy Young Award that same year.  Relief pitcher Jim Konstanty of Philadelphia won the 1950 National League MVP Award.

My take – I wonder how many votes were swayed in Rollie’s direction strictly due to the power of ‘the stache’…

  1. Gotta be the best mustache of the modern era. And the aren’t many names any better than Rollie Fingers. Kind of goes with the stache, too.
