I like that title; it has a catchy ring to it!!!
It’s not often that you get to spend some time in the presence of a baseball legend and Hall of Famer. It’s even more rare when that player is 90+ years old and is signing autographs for free. So when I found out about the Bob Feller free signing roughly 10 days ago, I knew that I would have to make the very short trip to attend the event.
And I am not the only one who felt this way. I met up with my favorite South Florida autograph hunter while I was there as well…
The line to meet this Hall of Famer was very short. Had it not been for the lady in front of me getting 48 balls signed I would have been in and out of there in less than 15 minutes. And now that I sit back and reflect about the event, I am very happy to have been behind her as it gave me a few more minutes to enjoy his presence.
As for an autograph, I opted for a Rawlings official game ball. My collection is looking pretty sweet and this signed ball makes #18 for me. Here it is:
Mr. Feller was very kind and took time to greet and say hello to everyone he came across. He added the HOF inscription per my request and it came out looking great!!
The guy behind me was the last guy in line while I was there, so both Alfredo and I took advantage of a break in the action and we each got our pictures taken with him.
So, here I am with Hall of Famer pitcher, Mr. Bob Feller:
35 minutes and $15.00 later, I have a baseball memory that will last a lifetime. And I could not be happier!!!
A great night indeed.
