1980 Topps – ‘1979 Highlights’ – Card #6

I was able to pick up this subset for a very low price.  It’s a 6-card set and it highlights some amazing accomplishments that occurred during the 1979 baseball season.

1980 Topps – ‘1979 Highlights’ – Card #6

Headline – ‘Del Unser’s 3rd Consecutive Pinch Homer Sets New Big League Standard’

Text on the back – Philadelphia, July 10, 1979 – Phillies’ Del Unser belted a game-winning pinch-homer in the 9th inning tonight as Phillies beat the Padres, 6-5.  It was Unser’s 3rd straight homer as pinch-hitter, a new big league mark for batsmen.

  1. A friend of mine gave me two shoeboxes full of baseball cards to sell. I’ve been going through them and seeing how much they’re selling for on ebay. So far they’ve been from 1978-1980. Most of them valued at only around $1.
What would your suggestion be on how to best sell these cards? It seems it would be very time-consuming to post each one on ebay. Any ideas?

    • Hi Jennifer- You won’t find too much of an audience for singles of those cards unless you have some rookies that are in mint condition. Your best bet may be to sort them by team and offer them up that way or even trying to sell them all in one lot. It would also be in your best interest to judge the condition of the cards before listing them and incurring any Ebay fees. While more than 30 years old, if they are not close to mint condition they will be very hard to move. I hope this helps… Brian

  2. By the way, I have that 1979 Highlights card posted above. That’s how I found your blog.
