‘Ultimate Dawson’ Gets A Makeover!!!

‘Ultimate Dawson’ Gets A Makeover!!!

I spent some time last night organizing and re-shooting a few pictures of my Andre Dawson memorabilia collection.  When done, I thought it would be fun to load them up on the blog for you to enjoy.

It has been a BLAST putting this tribute of Andre together; and there is still some great stuff on my radar that I would like to add in both the near and distant future.  As I continue to add more pieces to this collection, I will be sure to add them to my ‘Ulitmate Dawson’ page.

As for now, I ask you to check out my revamped page and enjoy!!!

Eddie Murray 2008 Donruss Threads Game-Used Jersey Card

Eddie Murray 2008 Donruss Threads Game-Used Jersey Card

Now that I have completed my Eddie Murray player collection, I am giving myself a little more leniency when it comes to adding cards of ‘Easy Eddie’ to my collection.  So, I thought I would try to add a few game-used cards, and possibly a certified autograph, to my collection as time goes by.

And this is now the first Game-used memorabilia card of Eddie Murray that I have picked up.

Serial numbered 176/250, I love this card.  The Gray swatch that Donruss used for this one stands out against the White and Red colored theme that makes up the background of the card.  And because Eddie is wearing his home ‘whites’ in the image, the Gray really pops!!

Check it out:

Gotta love it!!!

Andre Dawson 2005 Topps Pristine – Uncirculated

Andre Dawson 2005 Topps Pristine – Uncirculated

Another modern-day marvel featuring my favorite baseball player of all-time!!!

Numbered 451/549, this card was issued by Topps in a very rigid and secure plastic holder.  Complete with foil tape bearing the Topps logo, this card is marketed as ‘unciculated’ – to have never been touched.

It is kind of tough to see in the scan, but this card has an odd background – kind of refractor, kind of fractal.

Nonetheless, I like the overall look of this card, and I am thrilled to add it to my Andre Dawson player collection!!!

Tim Raines 1982 Fleer

Tim Raines 1982 Fleer

Fleer did so many innovative things with their 1982 design.  Being the leaders of technology and graphic design, they gave us unique and original content with every card that they issued…

From special prints, to limited edition runs, to highly sought after 1:1 issues, Fleer was the leader of the industry!!!

I wonder how they snuck in this crappy card of Tim Raines that year…  Somebody was sleeping on the job, huh???    🙂

1975 Topps Cincinnati Reds Teams Set – Card #204 – 1966 MVP’s w/Frank Robinson

1975 Topps Cincinnati Reds Teams Set – Card #204 – 1966 MVP’s w/Frank Robinson

1975 was the 25th anniversary of Topps baseball cards.  And in the set that year they issued cards to commemorate the MVP performances from that time.  As you could imagine, there are several Cincinnati Reds players featured in this little set, and Frank Robinson is honored twice.

This is the second of 2 cards featuring Frank Robinson and his amazing MVP campaigns.

Simply stated, Frank Robinson was a beast during the 1966 baseball season.  Offensively, he was as good as it got, and the numbers he put up during that campaign were awesome.  On the year, Robinson collected 182 hits in 576 at-bats – good for a .316 batting average.  He connected for 34 doubles and 49 homers while also driving it 122 runs and scoring 122 times well.  ‘The Judge’ had an on-base percentage of .410 in 680 plate appearances, and he only struck out 90 times.

Yes, this card features Robinson in a Red’s uniform.  But his 1966 season was spent in Baltimore.  And that debut year with the O’s landed him the Triple Crown Award!!!  I hope you would agree that his 10 seasons in Cincy primed him for that Baltimore debut…
