Andre Dawson 2006 Fleer ‘Greats Of The Game’ – GOLD!!!

Andre Dawson 2006 Fleer ‘Greats Of The Game’ – GOLD!!!

What a nice looking card, huh?

I already owned the base version of this card, so when I was offered the Gold parallel version in my ‘Andre Dawson Grab Bag #3′, I jumped at the chance to pick it up.

Numbered 249/299. this card looks great with a nice royal effect due to the Gold coloring.  Already consisting of an artsy vibe, with its elegant border, the Gold color really makes the Red, White, and Blue of the Cubs’ uniform stand out.

A terrific addition to my Andre Dawson collection!!!

Paul Molitor 1987 Donruss – Highlights

Paul Molitor 1987 Donruss – Highlights

This card was part of the ‘Highlights’ set that Donruss issued after the 1987 baseball season ended.  Using the same design elements, with just a new border color, this card and the subset it is a part of is a great complement to the 1987 Donruss issue as it honored the individual achievements that were noteworthy during the 1987 season.

Of them, was Paul Molitor’s 39-game hit streak.

The steady play and discipline at the plate that Molitor had to display during this incredible run was extremely impressive.  His skills as a professional hitter were on display for the baseball world, and he became a bigger star as a result.  Currently, Molitor’s 39-game streak ranks as the 7th longest hit streak in major league history.

A major accomplishment!!  One that is certainly worthy of a card praising Molitor’s efforts!!!
