I Finally Got My Ron Santo 1961 Topps ROOKIE CARD!!!
Oh yeah Baby!! I have finally brought home a 1961 Topps Ron Santo rookie card!!!
When I decide to add a player to my roster, I really try to honor them and their careers in the best way that I can. The problem is that some of the cards I need to acquire to get this done are 40-50 years old. That means 2 things – old and costly!
So I shop. And Shop. And shop. And my Ebay account has over 60 saved searches to help me on my journeys.
And now, more than 5 months after announcing my intent to collect every Ron Santo card issued during his playing days, I am proudly say that the crowned jewel of that collection is mine.
Santo’s rookie card from the 1961 Topps set – YES!!!!

Joe Morgan 2008 SP Legendary Memorabilia Game-Used Jersey Card
What a SWEET looking card!!!
There is something about these Joe Morgan game-used cards… they all look great! If I am not careful, I am never going to complete the set I am working on of all of his major brand releases from his playing days….
This card, numbered 53/75, comes from the 2008 SP Legendary Memorabilia set. Featuring a nice, White swatch from one of Morgan’s Reds jerseys, this card looks great. Featured is a young Morgan posing for the camera on a Spring Training field. The colors used, and enhanced by Upper Deck, really work well together on this card!
A great addition to my Joe Morgan collection!!!

Paul Molitor 1981 Donruss
As most of us that enjoy cards from the 1980’s know, most of the pictures used on cards from this era were taken during Spring Training.
That’s why this card is puzzling to me. Everything seems so dark, and with most if not all of the Spring action taking place during the day, I have to question where this picture was taken. And when too…
And my boy Molitor looks really enthused to be there too, doesn’t he??? 🙂

Josh Johnson 2009 Upper Deck Goudey
This is a great looking card – and if I had the opportunity to get JJ to sign a card for me, this one would be a contender!!
I have to admit, as a Marlins fan, I was not 100% certain that Josh Johnson would emerge as an All-star during the 2009 baseball season. And while he had a great second half in 2008, he had yet to really put together a full season of above average performance.
Fast forward to now, and you have one of the top pitchers in the game. JJ has been brilliant for ‘The Fish’ this year, and with some more run support he could easily have 3-4 more wins on his resume. The Cy Young talks aren’t as strong now as they were 3-4 weeks ago, but his season has still been nothing short of fantastic and fun to watch!!!
