1992 Upper Deck Baseball Heroes Johnny Bench & Joe Morgan Subset – Card #5

Card #5 of this set recalls Morgan’s incredible 2-year run as the National League’s MVP – 1975 & 1976.

During the 1975 season, Morgan was a monster.  He hit .327 for the Reds and had an on-base percentage of .466.  At the plate, he hit 27 doubles and 17 home runs.  And on the bases, Morgan had 67 steals while scoring 107 runs.

Joe Morgan continued his dominance in 1976.  Again, a solid year at the plate and on the bases, Morgan hit .320 with a .444 on-base percentage.  His power surged in ’76 as he hit 30 doubles and 27 round-trippers.  But his speed did not falter a bit – he stole 60 bases and scored 113 runs for the team.
