Steve Carlton 2001 Fleer ‘Greats’ – Autograph!!!

Steve Carlton 2001 Fleer ‘Greats’ – Autograph!!!

Early last week I hooked myself up while cruising around Ebay.  I found a seller that was unloading a big stack of 2001 Fleer ‘Greats’ autographed cards – and at very low prices…

In total, there were probably 8-9 cards that I was very interested in.  Ultimately I settled in on 4 of them – and I paid just $22.00.

Card #1 from that buy is this card of Steve Carlton.

Sweet, huh??  This bad-boy cost me just $7.00, and his autograph is one that I have wanted to add to my collection for quite some time.

I am very excited about this card – and the other three as well.  I’ll show off card #2 in the next few days…

Ozzie Smith 1992 Score

Ozzie Smith 1992 Score

This is a great looking card and a fantastic addition to my rapidly growing Ozzie Smith collection!!!

From Score’s base set issued in 1992, the photo used for this card captures Ozzie in a familiar position – “Turning Two”.

2010 Topps ‘Legendary Lineage’ With Frank Robinson & Ryan Braun

2010 Topps ‘Legendary Lineage’ With Frank Robinson & Ryan Braun

Nice – 1 of my favorites from today, and one of my favorites from yesteryear!!!

And while it would be impossible to guess what Ryan Braun’s future holds as a major league player, he better be honored to share this space with one of the greatest players to play in the big leagues.

We have no clue if Braun will reach the same level of team or individual success that Robinson achieved during his days, they can be classified as a similarly skilled player – solid hitter for average, good power, and run producer!!

A great addition to my collection!!  YES!!!

Happy Anniversary Eddie Murray!!!

On this day in 1983, Eddie Murray sealed the Baltimore Orioles World Series championship dream with a very impressive outing.

In Game 5 of the match-up, Murray and his Orioles entered the game with a 3-1 lead over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Murray proceeded to go 3-for-4 on the night while scoring 2 runs, driving in 3, and crushing 2 monster home runs.  It was his offense that was the difference, as the O’s blanked the Phillies 5-0 en route to their World Series title.

A classic performance by one of the game’s greatest hitters!

Happy Anniversary Mr. Murray!!!

Baseball Card Show This Weekend!!!

Baseball Card Show This Weekend!!!

It’s that time of the month again – The third Saturday of the month means that it’s time for the monthly card show at the mall near my house.

I’m looking forward to going – and I hope to find a few bargain boxes to rummage through as I have been very lucky recently while doing so.

I’m also in the mood to start thinking about my next group of player collections.  Maybe something will inspire me – We’ll see!!

Oh, Darryl Strawberry will be there too as he is doing a signing for the memorabilia store in the mall.  I’ll definitely stop by to check that out and snap a few pics too!!

Check back on Monday for a full card show report.

Wish me luck!!!
