Signing Results: Hall of Famer, Ozzie Smith!!!

Signing Results:  Hall of Famer, Ozzie Smith!!!!

Finally, after weeks of waiting and one canceled session, my Ozzie Smith signed baseball is home.

And even though the wait was longer than what I would have wanted, I have to say that this signed baseball is one of the sweetest in my collection!!!  Ozzie’s signature is impeccable; I would have to say that the quality and clarity of his autograph is underrated in the hobby.

Come see for yourself:

I told you – PERFECT!!!!

This is ball #40 of my collection, and easily a ‘Top 5’ for me!!!

Thanks Ozzie!!!

Bob Gibson 1971 Topps

Bob Gibson 1971 Topps

Vintage time!!!!

I cannot believe that this baseball card is close to 40 years old.  And I have to say that for being 39, this card of Bob Gibson from the 1971 Topps baseball set looks pretty good!!!

While the camera angle used to shoot this photo is not odd, I have to say that the end result of the shot is.  Between Gibson’s Grey jersey and Red hat mixed with all of the same colored shirts and hats in the stands, Gibson blends in really well with the crowd.  Heck, the third baseman stands out more than ‘Hoot’ and it is not his card.

Instead of ‘Where’s Waldo’, we can play ‘Where’s Gibby’ with this one…  🙂

Dawson Oddballs Make Me Smile!!!

Dawson Oddballs Make Me Smile!!!

These random Dawson oddballs have been sitting on my desk for a while.

Primarily consisting of stickers that were issued in the early 1980’s, I love looking at ‘cards’ like these because they are not ones that you see all of the time.  And as my Andre Dawson collection continues to swell, it is cards like these that keep my collection chugging along.

Oh, and in the center is a card I had never seen prior to my purchase and have not seen since – kind of looks like a picture of Andre while in his younger teens…

Reggie Jackson 2010 Topps ‘Vintage Legends’

Reggie Jackson 2010 Topps ‘Vintage Legends’

Look at this beauty!!!

I scooped this card up during a recent splurge on Sportlots.com.  And while they may not offer the easiest or most friendly way to shop, their prices cannot be beat.

For example, cards that would cost a dollar through Ebay’s Buy It Now program can be had for as little as $0.18 on SportLots.com.

I’ve been hooked on that site for some time now, and if it wasn’t for their vast inventory of sellers and cards, my player collections would not be anything close to what they are today.

Thank you SportLots.com!!!

Wade Boggs 1992 Topps

Wade Boggs 1992 Topps

From the looks of it, Wade Boggs is headed home.

And while it is tough to guess the complete scenario of this picture, he is either advancing due to a passed ball, putting on a squeeze play, or attempting to score as the result of an infield hit or bunt…

My guess is option number three – I cannot see Boggs being the player of choice when attempting a squeeze…  But that’s just me.
