Throwing 5 Baseballs In The Mail Tomorrow Morning…

Throwing 5 Baseballs In The Mail Tomorrow Morning…

The title of this post says it all.  Tomorrow morning on my way to dropping of my older son to school we will make a quick detour and head to the automated postal machine at our neighborhood United States post office.

Into the mailstream will go 5 Rawlings Official Major League baseballs….

I won’t tell you who I’m sending them to…  And I won’t tell you what zip code they’re going to….

What I will tell you is that these 5 baseballs are going out in search of autographs.  And when they’re returned to the confines of my home, I will unveil the results to you.

Wish me luck!!!

Stay tuned.

Andre Dawson 2010 Topps Sterling ‘Timely Tags’ 4-Pc Game Used Jersey Card

Andre Dawson 2010 Topps Sterling ‘Timely Tags’ 4-Pc Game Used Jersey Card

How sweet is this one??

Yeah, I know…

It takes a lot for me to really like a modern baseball card.  But Topps hooked me with this card from their 2010 Sterling set.

Featuring ‘The Hawk’ and numbered as 18/25, this baseball card is an instant hit in the ’30-YOC’ collection that pays homage to my favorite baseball player of all-time!!

There are tons of multi-relic cards in this Sterling set – hopefully this is just the first of many that I obtain!!

Fingers Crossed!!

Ernie Banks 2010 Topps ‘Tales Of The Game’ – “Let’s Play Two!!!”

Ernie Banks 2010 Topps ‘Tales Of The Game’ – “Let’s Play Two!!!”

From the back of the card – Banks expressed his dep passion for the game with three little words: “Let’s Play Two!”  Often uttered on sunny days as a genial request for a doubleheader, the phrase became as synonymous with the Cubs slugger as his 512 career home runs, outstanding defense, and two NL MVP awards.  Ernie’s cheerful disposition and eager playing style made him one of the most popular figures in Chicago Sports history.

Gary Carter 1985 Donruss Highlights

There’s that award-winning smile again…  Man Gary Carter sure did love the camera, huh??

This card, from the 1985 Donruss Highlights set, pays tribute to Carter winning the National League Player of the Month award in September of the 1985 baseball season.

I guess with an acknowledgement like that, he’s allowed to show off that killer smile!!!
