A 2010 Baseball Hall Of Fame Yearbook – Just For Me???
Way back during Christmas of 2010, my wife surprised me with a small handful of Andre Dawson related items issued by the Baseball Hall of Fame after he was inducted over the summer.
Among the items was a t-shirt, a stack of HOF postcards, a commemorative baseball, and this Hall of Fame yearbook that celebrates the class of 2010 with Andre being the headliner.
I have leafed through this yearbook a handful of times as it has never left my desk since being unwrapped. And while the pages inside are littered with more advertisements than actual baseball related material, the thought was wonderful and I am proud to have this book as a souvenir of that very special day.
Something tells me that this would look fantastic if signed with a Blue Sharpie!!!

Fergie Jenkins 1990 Elite Senior Baseball – Winter Haven Super Sox
The ‘Super Sox’ sounds like a team name that a 4-year old would imagine up. How do I come to that conclusion? Well, I have a 4-year old, and I could see him conjuring up something right along those lines…
All the way back n 1990, and more than five years after retiring from the major leagues, Ferguson Jenkins was still throwing heat. Albeit in the Senior Leagues. But still, Fergie had a spirit and desire to win that took him well beyond the age in which a pitcher usually hangs up his spikes.
This card, issued in 1990 by the company Elite, does a very good job of showing us just how well Fergie looked on the mound at he age of 48 years old!!!

My First Time – Kevin Brown – September 30, 1986
The setting – Arlington Stadium, Arlington, TX
From Brown – “I remember my debut well. I gave up a hit to Jose Canseco with two out and gave up a single after that, and I was down 1-0, but then I settled in. The guys scored like seven runs for me in the third so it was pretty easy from there… I remember the heat, Texas is just flat out brutal – even in September.”
The Boxscore – Rangers 9, Athletics 5. Brown 5 innings picthed. 6 hits, 2 runs allowed with 4 strikeouts and no walks. 1st major league victory.

Dale Murphy 2004 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites
When collecting Dale Murphy’s baseball cards, my particular taste tends to lean towards cards that feature him in an Atlanta Braves uniform…
And rightfully so as Atlanta is where ‘Murph’ became an All-Star center fielder and 2-time National League MVP.
But when I saw this card of Murphy from the 2004 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites baseball card set, I had to grab it. Even if he is wearing a Phillies’ uniform in the picture, this card looks great. Topps did an excellent job with their photo selection as they captured a very powerful follow-through of this slugger’s swing.
I am really loving these ‘All-Time Fan Favorties’ cards. I am going to have to scoop up some more. Stay tuned to see who is next…
