TTM Success – Hall Of Famer, Mr. Bobby Doerr!!!
So, by now you may have figured it out… I took the baseball that Yogi Berra rejected and sent it to another Hall of Fame player that signs for everybody – with no strings attached.
Bobby Doerr signed my ball and returned it to me in just eight days!!
This was the third time that Mr. Doerr signed for me in the last two years so I sent him a donation as a ‘Thank You’ for all of his kindness towards collectors. And what did he do? How did he respond?
Well, check out the pics…
Yessir. Not only did Bobby Doerr sign my baseball beautifully while also including his ‘HOF 86’ inscription, but he also gave me one of his Cooperstown Hall of Fame postcards.
A true friend of the collector – Thank You Mr. Doerr!!!

Fergie Jenkins 2001 Topps Archives
Another great addition to my Fergie Jenkins collection!!
This one, from the 2001 Topps Archives set, is a replica of the 1984 Topps set that debuted 17 years prior.
I have to say that I am thrilled that Fergie gets recognized still in today’s baseball card releases. Obviously I think that he is worthy of the attention, so as a collector of everything Fergie-related, these new issues keep me actively pursuing his baseball cards.
Thank You Topps!!

Ozzie Smith 1984 Donruss
Come on man, back up!
Seriously, I don’t care if it is a check swing, a bunt, or a home run, show me EVERYTHING!!!
I want to see it all. I want to see the catcher’s mitt. I want to see what color Ozzie’s shoes are. I want to see the guy in the on-deck circle. And if the girl in the front row is cute, I want to see her too…

Gary Carter ‘Fab Five’ – Card #3 – 1983 Topps
Now that my Gary Carter collection is complete, it is time to show of my favorite five cards from the set.
Card #3 is from the 1983 Topps set.
Just a tad better than the 1984 Topps baseball card that I featured yesterday in my ‘Gary Carter Fab 5’, card #3 comes from the 1983 base set.
The card, like the ’84 version that followed it, features two images. And again, Topps opted for a large action photo(which was a great choice) and then a smaller cameo shot.
Here it is:
Wow, just look at the determination on Carter’s face and in his body language as he attacks the baseball in what appears to either be a passed ball or bunt attempt. Either way, he is committed to making the play, and if I had to put money on it I would be comfortable with betting that he made the out.
Great job Gary!!!
