Dan Uggla & Cameron Maybin Collections Up For Grabs!!!

Dan Uggla & Cameron Maybin Collections Up For Grabs!!!

It’s time for me to trim my current collection down a bit as I make room for some new player collections that I am going to start working on.

And while neither of the lots I am offering up are very big, they are definitely very shiny as they both contains some high quality cardboard.

So, while I do plan on keeping tabs on both of these former Florida Marlins players as they suit up for new teams this season, I am ready to part with the cards that I own of them.

First up is Dan Uggla – 15 cards, a nice lot of multi-year issues.

Cameron Maybin – 7 cards, lots of early issues.

There it is – nothing too spectacular, but both lots would be nice additions to anyone’s collection that appreciates these two ball players.

Want the cards?  Just say so.  Leave me a comment and I will randomly select who gets them.  And shipping is on me!!

Andre Dawson 1990 Topps Superstar Mini Sticker

Andre Dawson 1990 Topps Superstar Mini Sticker

Sometimes a collector has to dig pretty deep to find new gems for his collection.

Such is the case with this new addition to my Andre Dawson collection.  Issued in 1990 by Topps, they had put out a tremendous amount of stickers to keep kids interested in the hobby.

Not only do stickers work for kids, they work for this player collector too…

Here is the newest addition to my Andre Dawson collection:

Frank Robinson 2003 Fleer ‘Fall Classic’

Frank Robinson 2003 Fleer ‘Fall Classic’

I love the thought of a baseball card set that pays tribute to the ‘Fall Classic’.  Hell, the game’s greatest heroes have all taken to that stage and performed some of the most amazing baseball ever witnessed.

Specifically, Frank Robinson competed for five World Series championships, winning two titles.

In those five match-ups, Robinson participated in 35 games.  I cannot believe that Fleer would use this picture when they should have had a vault full of pictures of Robinson in World Series play.

Gary Carter ‘Fab Five’ – Card #1 – 1980 Topps

Gary Carter ‘Fab Five’ – Card #1 – 1980 Topps

Now that my Gary Carter collection is complete, it is time to show of my favorite five cards from the set.

Card #1 is from the 1980 Topps set.

Here it is ladies and gentlemen, the #1 card in my Gary Carter collection.  Numero Uno!!

I am, and have always been, a big fan of the 1980 Topps baseball card set.  And while it is far from the most exciting issue created by Topps, it’s simple yet distinct design elements work very well for a baseball theme.

The two banners containing the player’s position and team name act as perfect frames that hold the photo centered.  And while the banners are not exact matches for the team colors in any of the cards from this set, they are hardly a distraction.

And now check out that picture of a young and aggressive Gary Carter.  Right in the middle of the action, Carter is holding his head and the ball high after apparently making an out.

And the cloud of dust surrounding him is just perfect!!!
