TTM Success: Yogi Berra! If At First You Don’t Success, Try, Try, Again!!!
There are so many things that I can say…
There are so many valuable lessons that can be learned from this…
These are the things that I reinforce with my children on a daily basis…
And while maybe not as life-altering of a scenario, the fact remains the same that both patience and persistence pay off!!!
Now, after three attempts, I have added a Yogi Berra autograph to my baseball card collection.
Waiting for me in my mailbox tonight, a new jewel for the collection. And now, I share it with you!!!
And ‘THANK YOU” Mr. Berra!!!

‘On The Road With psuGator02′ – Jason Bay – April 19, 2011
Digital Domain Park
Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Tuesday, April 19
Made the almost 90-minute trek with two other members for a rehabbing Jason Bay. It was his last game in the FSL game before heading north to NYC and last night was the only game that fit my schedule. I told one member the only way I was going was if he drove. Thought that and the long drive would convince him that maybe it wasn’t a good idea. But he bit. Was told that the last few games he had been playing six innings and then departing. Of course, on this night he played the whole game, choosing to hang around in the clubhouse for what seemed like forever. If he had signed near the dugout as soon as the game had ended then I could’ve gotten home at a reasonable hour. But he didn’t, and we were forced to wait for him in the parking lot. I had five things with me and figured Bay would probably do 2-3.
Jason Bay: 2/2 (8×10 with ‘2004 ROY’ inscription, ’08 Ginter) in blue Sharpie. Tried to get a third done but he said he was in a hurry.
Other: Stud SS prospect Wilmer Flores made two errors on the night. Can you say BUST?
Jim Palmer 2008 Playoff Prime Cuts Game-Used Jersey
Man this card is sweet! And if you check out the chunk of Palmer’s jersey featured on the card, you see that the color is Beige, not the normal White of the Orioles home jersey. Kind of cool – and definitely a more unique relic for my Jim Palmer collection.
And the fact that it is serial numbered to 22(Palmer’s jersey number), makes it just a bit sweeter too!!

Tony Gwynn 1992 Upper Deck Diamond Skills – ‘Best Hitter’
The title of the card ‘Best Hitter’ says it all!! I cannot think of a better way to describe Tony Gwynn and what he brought to the sport of baseball.
And if there ever was a question as to his rank amongst his peers when it came to hitting, the numbers back it all up…
8 batting titles, 3,141 hits, 5 200-hit seasons, and a career batting average of .338(good for 18th all-time).
Best Hitter? Indeed!

Happy Anniversary Eddie Murray!!!
On this day in 1994, Eddie Murray broke Mickey Mantle’s record of hitting switch-hit home runs in the same game. Mantle’s record of 10 was dropped down to second place as Murray accomplished this incredible feat for the 11th time in his career.
It was 16 years ago that ‘Easy Eddie’ blasted a home run from both the left and right sides of the plate. And the rest is baseball history!!

Is There A More Dynamic 3-4 Combo In Baseball Than Ryan Braun & Prince Fielder??
Seriously, these guys are playing incredible baseball. If they were in a major market city, both of them would have their faces plastered on side of buildings.
I was listening to the Brewers game this afternoon on my IPhone and while hearing how well these two very skilled players are playing, I had to ask myself, is there a more exciting duo in the sport right now….
Teixiera and A-Rod?
Pujols & Holliday?
Gonzalez & Youkilis?
Wright & Beltran?
I don’t think so….
If I had to make a pick it would without question be these two guys…
