2004 Donruss Throwback Threads ‘Dynasty’ Featuring Bench, Perez, Morgan, and Foster

2004 Donruss Throwback Threads ‘Dynasty’ Featuring Bench, Perez, Morgan, and Foster

Wow, such an unreal theme for a card – I LOVE IT!!!

And while there is one glaring omission from the card, Pete Rose, I like the fact that George Foster was chosen to be represented on a card like this.  He was not on par with his Hall of Fame teammates, but he drove in a ton of runs for the Reds during their championship seasons.

Let’s get right into the beauty of this card, shall we?

Here is the front:

And here is the back:

Now I just need to figure how and where to store this beauty…  Decisions, Decisions.

Andre Dawson 1990 Topps – Tiffany!

Andre Dawson 1990 Topps – Tiffany!

Another sweet little Tiffany for the Andre Dawson collection.  The cards a lot shinier than their regular base brothers, and the backs are brighter too!!

This one, from the 1990 Topps set, looks especially nice.

And the ’90 Topps cards are really growing on me too.  The borders I once found very annoying and over-done are actually becoming appealing.

Weird, huh?

Now that is a ‘Million Dollar Smile’!!!

GO GET ‘EM DOC!!!!

2010 Topps ‘Legendary Lineage’ Starring Brooks Robinson & Ryan Zimmerman

2010 Topps ‘Legendary Lineage’ Starring Brooks Robinson & Ryan Zimmerman

While Ryan Zimmerman may be a more powerful offensive threat, he is in no way on par or even close to being compare to the great Brooks Robinson.

Known as the best defensive third baseman, and one of the greatest infielders, or all-time, very few could compare to Brooks.

And while Zimmerman has shown flashes of offensive brilliance during his relatively short career, his inability to remain healthy at a young age does not bode well for a lengthy career at the hot corner.

‘Zim’ should be very honored to be sharing space on this piece of cardboard with the Hall of Famer!!!

Did You Know…

Lou Brock stole seven consecutive bases in World Series play in back-to-back seasons..  In 1967 Brock and his Cardinals teammates battled the Boston Red Sox for the championship.  Brock stole seven bases in that match-up and repeated the same feat during the 1968 Fall Classic against the Detroit Tigers!!

There is nobody in the game that could do that today…

Atta Boy Mr. Brock!!!

Don’t Look Now, But Hanley Ramirez Is HEATING UP!!!!

Don’t Look Now, But Hanley Ramirez Is HEATING UP!!!!

It took much longer than expected, but Hanley Ramirez is starting to perform like an All-Star again!!

In his last 10 games, Hanley has collected 14 hits in 36 at-bats.  And of those 14 hits, 6 have been for extra bases as 4 are doubles and 2 are home runs.  He is also responsible for driving in 11 runs while scoring 8.  He has also tallied 2 more stolen bases during that time.

Most importantly, as Hanley goes, so go the Marlins.  The team is 8-2 in their last 10 games!!

GO FISH!!!
