Andre Dawson 2011 Topps Lineage 9-Card Set w/Game Used Relic

Andre Dawson 2011 Topps Lineage 9-Card Set w/Game Used Relic

You may recall that a few weeks ago I went to a baseball card show.  One of my missions while attending was to start scooping up all of the various Andre Dawson and Fergie Jenkins cards from this year’s Topps Lineage set.

Well, I struck out.  Swinging.  I tried and tried, but I didn’t find a single one of my needs.

So, while driving home I carefully accessed my Ebay account through my I-Phone.  Smoothly, I began picking off cards after card, and pretty soon I was on a roll.

In total, I grabbed 9 card of Andre Dawson from the Lineage set,

Here are the Expos All-Rookie Team cards:

And here are the cards of Andre while with the Cubs:

And lastly, here is the 1975 Topps mini relic featuring a very nice Grey swatch of Dawson’s jersey.

Not a bad haul if I say so myself.

And not a bad way to add 9 new entries into my official Andre Dawson checklist!!!

Reggie Jackson 2001 Fleer Greats Of The Game

Reggie Jackson 2001 Fleer Greats Of The Game

Simply stated, this is just a superb card with clean crisp design elements, and a good old Yankees vibe.

Framed with the perfect shade of Yankee pinstripe Blue, the photo of Reggie that was used for this card is very nice.  You can tell that Reggie has made solid contact based on the position of the bat in his follow-through as well as by looking at his eyes that are fixed on the ball he most likely just crushed.

Go Get ‘Em Reggie!!!

Ozzie Smith 1986 Fleer – Ughhhh

Ozzie Smith 1986 Fleer – Ughhh

If this is how Fleer captured the great Ozzie Smith, one of the most photogenic players of his time, I would hate to see how the card of Paul Assenmacher from the 1986 Fleer set came out…  LMAO!!

Dwight Gooden 1988 Fleer Headliners

Dwight Gooden 1988 Fleer Headliners

Kind of a cool concept by Fleer here with their ‘Headliners’ set.  The whole newsprint background looks cool, but it also looks very amateur.

If Fleer wanted to pull this one off properly, they should have consulted with the artist that created the 1970 Topps All-Star cards.  For the vintage collectors, you know what I am talking about…

Albert Pujols Drives In 5 Runs As The Cardinals Rout The Brewers!!!

Albert Pujols Drives In 5 Runs As The Cardinals Rout The Brewers!!!

Pujols was unreal last night – and his efforts paid off significantly, as he and his Cardinals teammates head back to St. Louis in a 1-1 tie with the Brewers.

Pujols’ stat line looks like this – 4-for-5, 3 runs scored, 5 RBI, 1 home run, leader.

Did You Know…

The first Latin major league starting pitcher to win twenty games in a single season was Dolf Luque.  Pitching for the Reds in 1923, The Cuban-born Luque went 27-8.

If You Are Not Enjoying These Baseball Playoffs, Something Is Definitely Wrong With You….

I am a true lover of the sport – from the history to the tradition to the heroics.  I love it all!!!

But the drama that we have experienced as baseball fans over the last two weeks has been unreal – something I could easily classify as the most exciting postseason of my lifetime!!!

The most recent drama – Nelson Cruz’s walk-off Grand Slam giving the Rangers a 7-3 over the Tigers and a 2-0 series lead.

I cannot get enough!!!
