1961 Topps Chicago Cubs Team Card
I told you a few weeks ago that I was going to start focusing on my Billy Williams collection again.
And this is step #1.
While many will not consider the ‘team’ card worthy of a player collection, I do. But only in the case of my Billy Williams collection. You see, when I first started putting this set of cards together (more than three years ago) I felt that the checklist was lacking depth. Being that Williams’ cards was limited to just releases from Topps, I decided to add all of the team cards to his checklist, giving me basically one more card per year to go after.
So, with that I present to you the 1961 Topps Chicago Cubs team card:
Since baseball cards are usually produced the season prior, it is very possible that Williams is not even pictured on this card. There are three options to choose from, and I am going to have to put in some work to find out if indeed he is present in this photo. 1961 was Williams’ rookie campaign, so I am guessing he is here.
I’ll do some work and keep you posted!!

Randy Hundley 2006 Fleer ‘Greats Of The Game’ Autographed Baseball Card!!
I have always liked Randy Hundley. Partly due to his being Fergie Jenkins’ favorite battery mate. And partly due to his being the father of former big league catcher Todd Hundley.
Randy was there for all of that action with the Cubs during the 1960’s. He starred right alongside Billy Williams, Ron Santo, Fergie Jenkins, and Ernie Banks!!
He saw it all! And I am thrilled to add this signed baseball card to my collection!!!
You won’t believe what I paid for this one…

Reggie Jackson 2002 Fleer ‘Fall Classic’
I love the theme of a ‘Fall Classic’ baseball card set. And Fleer did a great job with the logo.
But, other than that, this card doesn’t really excite me.
Sure, it features Reggie Jackson, so that is a big-time plus. But other than that, it is kind of blah. From a dull and boring border color to the muted background image behind Reggie, not very exciting stuff in this collector’s eyes…

Ron Santo 2001 Topps Archives
Well, I have the 1975 Topps version, so why not get the 2001 issue that tried to replicate the one from 26 years prior??
Man, Ron Santo just doesn’t look right in that Sox cap, does he???

Kirby Puckett 1990 Bowman
And the photographer says, ‘Ok Mr. Puckett, here is what I need you to do. Hold the bat over your right shoulder and look off into the distance. Think of Pink clouds, licorice, and ice skating’.
