Andre Dawson 1996 Leaf Signature Series – GOLD!!!

Andre Dawson 1996 Leaf Signature Series – GOLD!!!

My friends, this has been a long journey, a very long journey.

I have been after this ‘Gold’ card for quite some time.  Luckily I am patient, and sometimes easily distracted too, as it took me more than one year to finally make my score.

But, score I did!!!

I cannot believe it, but I paid less than $10 for this card – and I have seen it go for as much as $30.

OH, YEAH!!!!

Have a peek at this Bad-Boy!!!

Billy Williams 1975 Topps Mini

Billy Williams 1975 Topps Mini

I have had the base card of Billy Williams from the 1975 Topps set in my possession for close to 20 years.

I bought the card when I was collecting Williams while living in Chicago.  And I lived there from 1988-1994 – so I have been toting this card around from home to home for the better part of 2 decades.

So, I thought it was time to bring his little brother into the fold.

Here is Williams’ mini card from the same 1975 Topps set.

A fantastic addition to my Billy Williams collection – And I got it for dirt cheap too!!!

Frank Robinson 2004 Upper Deck SP Authentic – ‘All Star Moments’

Frank Robinson 2004 Upper Deck SP Authentic – ‘All Star Moments’

It has been a few weeks since I showed off a baseball card that features Frank Robinson so I thought it was time to roll out a new one for you…

This one is sweet too. Check it out:

I told you!!!

From the 2004 SP Authentic set, this card pays homage to Robinson becoming the first baseball player in major league history to crush home runs for both AL and NL squads during his career.

Pretty sweet fact, huh??  You do learn something every day…

Oh, and the fact that this bad-boy is serial numbered as 46/199 is very, very sweet!!

Dennis Eckersley 1985 Fleer

Dennis Eckersley 1985 Fleer

Since we’re forced to stare at another ‘posed’ shot of Dennis Eckersely with this baseball card issued by Fleer as part of their 1985 issue, I thought it would be more worth our while to look st Eck’s numbers from that season.

First, the card:

Ok, now on to the numbers…

My favorite stat from Eckersley’s 1985 season is… 6.16!!!

6.16 was Eck’s strikeout to walk ratio for the entire 1985 baseball season.  In total, he struck out 117 batters while walking 19.  And you know what else, that led the league!!!

Atta boy Eck!!!
