Hanley Ramirez 2011 Topps Gypsy Queen Game-Used Jersey Card w/Pinstripe!!

Hanley Ramirez 2011 Topps Gypsy Queen Game-Used Jersey Card w/Pinstripe!!

I’ve been doing a lot of shopping for Hanley Ramirez lately.  And while most of it has not netted any new cards for my collection, I am liking what I am seeing.

There was one card that I could not pass up.  And the price was just right for this budgeted collector.

The card comes from the 2011 Topps Gypsy Queen set and it features a very nice chunk of Florida Marlins jersey as the centerpiece.

And the jersey offers up a great pinstripe too!

Have a look:

Oh, yeah baby!!!

1979 Topps – 1978 Home Run Leaders Featuring George Foster & Jim Rice

1979 Topps – 1978 Home Run Leaders Featuring George Foster & Jim Rice

George Foster was mashing home runs at a crazy pace in the late 1970’s.  In today’s era, fans and media would speculate foul play, but back in the ’70s Foster was on a mission and the end result was a lot of longballs!!!

During the 1978 baseball season, George Foster paced the National League with 40 home runs.  And his counterpart in the American League, Jim Rice, led the AL with 46.

This is not the first time that these two players would be featured together on a League Leaders card…

Stay tuned for more!

Lou Whitaker 2005 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites

Lou Whitaker 2005 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites

Issued twenty years after the 1985 baseball season, this card of Lou Whitaker issued in 2005 by Topps takes us right back to ’85.

And Whitaker had a fantastic season in 1985!!!

Coming off of a World Series championship run with the Tigers in 1984, Lou was an All-Star, Gold Glove winner, and Silver Slugger winner in 1985.

His numbers – .279 batting average with 170 hits, 29 doubles, 8 triples, 21 home runs, 73 RBI, 102 runs scored, and a very solid on-base percentage of .382!!

And the crowd chants, ‘LOU’!!!!

Did You Know…

Walter Johnson led the American League in wins from 1910-1919.  ‘The Big Train’ compiled a record of 265-143 during the decade, with a decade-best 36 wins in 1913.  Eddie Cicotte was second in wins during that time with 162.

My Order Is Back From The Fergie Jenkins Signing – You’re Going To Love This.  Come See!!!

My Fergie Jenkins collection has really started to take shape.

You may recall that may few weeks ago I sent a box to Fergie’s foundation for a private signing opportunity.  Well, my order is back and I am stoked!!!

Here is my haul:

Come on, I had to tease you just a little bit.  You really didn’t expect me to just show you one image and then be done right??

I mean after all, there is no drama in that…

But, based on the image above, you may have an idea as to where this is going.

If not, here is a more clear picture:

Nice, huh??  Two more signed mini helmets for my ‘Ultimate Jenkins’ project.  This now makes three, with just one left to go…

But before we talk about the future, let’s get a little closer look at the present.

Here is the Phillies helmet:
