I Have Brought Home 9 Of The 10 Andre Dawson Cards From The 2012 Topps Gypsy Queen Set.  Come See…

Well, it has taken a little bit of work and patience, but I have finally landed all of the Andre Dawson baseball cards from the 2012 Topps Gypsy Queen baseball card set.

In total there are ten cads that feature ‘The Hawk’.  I have nine of them.

So, instead of dwelling on the fact that I have been unable to score an Indian Head Penny card yet, I will brag and boast about the nine cards that I have been able to get.

And here they are, 1-by-1…

Gold Frame

Blue Frame – serial numbered as 382/599

And here is the full lot:

Man, what a great looking group of cards, huh???

And a great addition to my Andre Dawson PC too!!!

Thanks for reading.

Jim Palmer 2011 Topps Kimball Champions Of Game & Sport – mini

Jim Palmer 2011 Topps Kimball Champions Of Game & Sport – mini

I continue to try to pick up modern cards of Jim Palmer as a way to rapidly increase the size of the ‘Super Collection’ that I am trying to build to honor him.

And I have a long way to go to get to an end result that I can be proud of.

I need a lot of help with this – there are a ton of cards issued of Palmer in 2010 and 2011 that I am still missing from my collection.  And while he has not been on as many 2012 checklists, I am already feeling like I am way behind…

So, it is time for this collector to get to work.

And I am starting with this – his card from the 2011 Topps Kimball Champions set.

And she is a beauty!!!

Gary Carter 2002 Fleer Fall Classic

Gary Carter 2002 Fleer Fall Classic

This card is just another of many recent examples that I have shown in which the border color may not look great, but it allows for other colors to really shine as a result.

And in the case of this card of Gary Carter, it is the Orange and Blue pinstriping of his Mets uniform that really stands out.

Check it out:

A very solid addition to my collection that honors ‘Kid’ Carter.

We miss you Gary!!!

1979 Headline – ‘Rickey Henderson Debuts For The A’s’

1979 Headline – ‘Rickey Henderson Debuts For The A’s’

It all started on this day 33 years ago…

Rickey Henderson’s debut with the Oakland A’s on June 24, 1979 is when it all began.  In the game, Henderson’s A’s team took on the Texas Rangers in Oakland, CA.  The A’s lost the game 5-1, but Rickey gave us a glimpse of what was to come..

In the game Henderson batted lead-off and went 2-for-4 with a single and a double.  He also picked up the first stolen base of his career, which as we all know was just the start of his amazing run as the game’s greatest lead-off hitter!!

Happy Anniversary Rickey!!!
