Kirk Gibson 2002 Upper Deck World Series Heroes

Kirk Gibson 2002 Upper Deck World Series Heroes

Whoa, talk about ‘World Series Heroes’.

Kirk Gibson left a huge impression on me after his performance in Game One of the 1988 World Series.

For a very long time, I thought that his home run off Dennis Eckersley was the greatest moment I had ever witnessed in baseball.  And while it still ranks very highly on that list, in my eyes it has been trumped a few times simply because th magnitude of Game One is not equal to what you find in a Game Six or Game Seven.

Gibson absolutely belongs in this set of cards issued by Upper Deck in 2002.

Here it is:

Thank you for the memories Mr. Gibson.  They will last a lifetime!!!

And a special shout-out to Fox for reminding us each post-season of your legendary efforts.

🙂
