Andre Dawson 1989 Fleer Glossy – Front & Back
It is not very often that I showcase the back of a baseball card. And usually when I do, it is due to the back containing a better image than the front.
For this post, that is not the case.
As a matter of fact, the back of this baseball card is rather dull. Except for one major ‘standout feature’.
First, let me show you the front:
And now the back:
Besides being a little brighter than the regular 1989 Fleer backs, the card also features the ‘Collector’s Edition’ stamping.
I have a few Fleer Glossy cards of Andre Dawson issued in the 1980’s and none of them feature this added stamping.
Is this unique to the 1989 issue? Do I have something more here than what I know?
Any information you can share would be great. Thank you.

Hank Aaron 2012 Topps Series 1 ‘Golden Greats’
I am really trying to make a consciuos effort to add some bulk to my Hank Aaron collection.
And if that means modern-era cards for now, that is fine with me.
My latest score comes from the 2012 Topps Series 1 release. Hank was fatured in the ‘Golden Greats’ subset, and I really like the historic players that the set celebrates.
Have a look at the card:
Very nice, I love the photo!!
And the card pays homage to a pretty grand occasion that occured during the 1959 baseball season.
From the back:
“May 5, 1959. Aaron walked four times in a marathon against the Dodgers in Milwaukee County Stadium, but with two outs and a runner on first in the bottom of the 16th inning, he finally got a pitch to drive. Hank crushed it to center field for a double, allowing Eddie Matthews to race around for the final tally in a 3-2 Braves victory. The knock raised Aaron’s average to .488.”

Willie McCovey 2011 Topps Short Print Cognac Diamond Anniversary
It has been a while since I have added a new card of Willie McCovey to my collection.
So, I thought I would make my next addition a great one.
And I believe that I have conquered that goal.
Have a look at my latest score:
The card comes from the 2011 Topps set. It is a short-print, and it is the Cognac Diamond Anniversary parallel.
I paid just $2.00 for the card, and I have seen them go for as high as $6.00 so I think that I did pretty well.
And yes, I love the fact that Johnny Bench is making a cameo on this card too.
I wonder if ‘Stretch’ was safe or out…

Lot Of Two 1977 Topps ’76 World Series Highlights Cards Featuring Johnny Bench!!!
I love these cards that pay homage to the prior season’s World Series match-up.
And when said cards also happen to celebrate your favorite baseball dynasty and one of the legends from that team, even better.
Chalk up two more cards for my Johnny Bench collection!!!

TTM SUCCESS: Hall Of Famer Wade Boggs!!!
Wow, I am very excited about this return.
I had been seeing positive TTM results from Wade Boggs for more than a month straight. He’s been signing up a storm lately – both for fees and for free as well. And he is signing all kinds of stuff too – from cards to balls to photos – and they all are coming out great!!!
So, I wanted in on the action and I sent two cards to Mr. Boggs about three weeks ago.
And wouldn’t you know it, he signed both for me – FOR FREE!!!
Here they are:
Pretty nice, huh???
I am very excited to add these to my collection. And I may have to try for a few more too. It seems like with a very small amount of cash, he will add the ‘HOF 05’ inscription.
I am going to test it out – Stay tuned!!!
And ‘Thank You Mr. Boggs’!!!!!
