Frank Robinson 2012 Topps ‘Career Day’

Frank Robinson 2012 Topps ‘Career Day’

This ‘Career Day’ set is one that I can really attach myself too.  I love cards that pay homage to the history of the sport, and when it features some of the greatest players as well, count me in!!!

This is the card of Frank Robinson from the set:

Robinson is another player that I really enjoy collecting.  I would rank him in my ‘Top Ten’ offensive players of all-time, and I have a fond affinity for card of him wearing both his Orioles and Reds uniform.

The card specifically honors June 26, 1970 when Robinson hit Grand Slams in consecutive innings against the Washington Senators.  For the game, Robinson went 2-for-4 with both hits being Grand Slams.  The 8 RBI he collected in the game is a career high for 1 game.
