And With This Reggie Jackson 2012 Topps Retired Number Commemorative Card, I Now Have The Trio!!!

You have no idea how hard I tried to get this card so I can show it off in October when I celebrate Reggie Jackson.  I was able to score both the Yellow A’s and Grey A’s card.

But it was the Yankees card that eluded me.

Until now.

Yessir, I have scored!!  And it is beautiful.

And now, I can finally show off the full 3-card set.  And it looks fantastic!!

Enjoy.

Bryce Harper 2012 Topps Update Rookie Card – Rookie Debut: April 28, 2012

Bryce Harper 2012 Topps Update Rookie Card – Rookie Debut: April 28, 2012

As we all know, Bryce Harper recently captured the 2012 NL Rookie Of The Year Award.  He deserved it, and I cannot think of a rookie in recent history that had as much pressure to succeed than what Harper had to deal with.

I was lucky enough to pull this card from a retail blaster of 2012 Topps Update.

The card celebrates Harper’s major league debut which occurred on April 28, 2012.  In that game, Harper went 1-for-3 with a double, sacrifice fly, and RBI.  The Nationals lost to the Dodgers 4-3.

Brooks Robinson 2005 Upper Deck Legends – MLB Artifacts

Brooks Robinson 2005 Upper Deck Legends – MLB Artifacts

I like this ‘Artifacts’ brand from Upper Deck’s 2005 Legends set.

I just wish that the picture of Brooks was offered to us in color.  Just imagine if the Oriole bird on his hat and sleeve were in Black and Orange…

What could have been!

Still, the card is a sweet one, and I am very happy to have it in my collection.  It is serial numbered as 792/1999 and I really like the font that UD used for the card.

Have a look:

Alan Trammell 1990 Upper Deck

Alan Trammell 1990 Upper Deck

By the time that the 1990 baseball season rolled around, Alan Trammell was in his 14th big league season.  And he was just 32 years old!!!

My favorite stat from Trammell’s 1990 season – .304

Trammell hit .304 in 1990 by collecting 170 hits in 559 at-bats.  This was the 6th time that Trammell would hit .300 or better.  He would go on to do it one more time in 1993.

Atta Boy Tram!!

After A Few Comments, I Had To Go Back And Grab Some More Ken Griffey Sr. Cards For The Collection…

After A Few Comments, I Had To Go Back And Grab Some More Ken Griffey Sr. Cards For The Collection…

A few weeks ago, I posted a story about completing my Ken Griffey Sr. player collection.  Congratulatory comments came my way, and a few that also told me that I was missing some cards for the PC.

So, the set was not complete.  After a quick review, I confirmed that I had indeed skipped the cards of Griffey in a Red uniform from 1989 and 1990.

And that was not going to cut it.  Not for me, and not for the readers of ’30-YOC’.

I set a plan in motion to add these missing cards to my checklist and then I began my hunt.

And then I scored!!!

These are the cards that I needed – all 10 of them!!!

YES!!!

Hat-Tip to Jason and Ron for steering me in the right direction.
