Reggie Jackson 2012 Panini Cooperstown

Reggie Jackson 2012 Panini Cooperstown

I have scored my second single card from the 2012 Panini Cooperstown set.  And it features one of my favorite players of all-time, a ’30-YOC’ legend, Mr. Reggie Jackson.

Here is the card:

VINTAGE REGGIE

I’m still really liking the card’s design.  The Black and White photo is a nice way to commemorate the early days of the sport and photography from that time, but Reggie was a bold and vibrant player.  Personally, I would like to see this one in sharp color…

Still, I like the card.  And I like the set.

Randy Johnson 1989 Fleer Update ROOKIE Card!!!!

Randy Johnson 1989 Fleer Update ROOKIE Card!!!!

I am slowly and quietly building up a nice collection of Randy Johnson rookie baseball cards.

I’ve got the Topps card(s).  I’ve got the Donruss Card.  And the Score card too.  I have the base card from the Fleer set.

And now, I have landed the Fleer Update card for my collection.

Here it is:

VINTAGE R JOHNSON

And now, I need just one more.  Time to shop for the Upper Deck rookie card!!

1982 Fleer Mike Schmidt – 1981 Home Run King!!!

1982 Fleer Mike Schmidt – 1981 Home Run King!!!

Looks like Schmidty was having a bit of a trophy party before the game, huh?

He certainly deserved the attention – he was ‘THE MAN’ during the 1981 baseball season.

Schmidt led the league in the following categories during the shortened season:  78 runs, 31 home runs, 91 RBI, 73 walks, .435 on-base percentage, .644 slugging percentage, 1.004 OPS, 342 total bases, and 13 sacrifice flies.

M-V-P!!!

Happy Birthday Hanley Ramirez!!!

Happy Birthday Hanley Ramirez!!!

Hanley Ramirez turns 29 years old today.

One of the most talented baseball players ever to wear the Marlins uniform (Florida and now Miami), Hanley Ramirez has the skills and baseball smarts to be the leader and centerpiece of his team.

His ability to dominate the game with his speed, hitting, power, and defense are all evident – I have seen him do it numerous times.

Want proof?

OK!!

In 2007 he stole 51 bases.
In 2008 he slugged 33 home runs.
In 2009 he won a batting title with a .342 average.

And if he was focused and determined, I think he can do it for a full season.  And maybe, just maybe, be tabbed one day as ‘The Best Player In The Game’!!!

Now a Dodger, always a Marlin!!!  I wish you nothing but the best Hanley!!!

Happy Birthday!!!

Andre Dawson 2005 Playoff Absolute Memorabilia Triple Relic Card – Jersey, Pants, Bat

Andre Dawson 2005 Playoff Absolute Memorabilia Triple Relic Card – Jersey, Pants, Bat

I have a fair share of Andre Dawson game-used relic cards, over 100 as a matter of fact!

In that stack is a healthy portion of cards that features one piece of memorabilia.  And I have a decent amount that features two pieces as well.  But, as for cards that have three or more pieces, my collection is on the slim side…

Do I have any?  Yes.  Just not as many as I would want…

So, when I saw this card on Ebay a few weeks ago, I set forth a plan to bring it home as long as it remained within my price range.

And it did, so I bought it!!!

The card comes from the 2005 Playoff Absolute Memorabilia set, and is serial numbered as: 75/95.

Have a look:

GU DAWSON ABSLUTE 3 RELIC

AWESOME!!!

What I really like about this card is that the pieces are all different – 1 jersey, 1 pants, 1 bat
