Fergie Jenkins 2006 Upper Deck SP Legendary Cuts ‘When It Was A Game’ – Gold

Fergie Jenkins 2006 Upper Deck SP Legendary Cuts ‘When It Was A Game’ – Gold

I have the Bronze.

And I have the Silver.

It was just a matter of time before I brought home the Gold!!

And that time is now.  I chose the bargain path for this card as I let a few of them pass me by as I was not willing to fork over what the sellers were asking for them.

Time went by and I missed out on 3-4 of the Gold cards, but as a value collector, I was ok with it and just hoped that another one would appear soon, and be affordable too!

Well, that time came and I pounced!!

I scooped the Gold version of the card for less than $4.00, shipped!

The card is serial numbered as 75/99 and this addition completes my 3-card set from the 2006 Upper Deck SP Legendary Cuts ‘When It Was A Game’ subset.

Willie Mays 2012 Topps Gypsy Queen – Base Card

Willie Mays 2012 Topps Gypsy Queen – Base Card

In my opinion, this card of Willie Mays from the 2012 Topps Gypsy Queen baseball card set is very, very nice.

It may not appeal to me as much as the Eddie Murray card or the Johnny Bench card do, but I really like how the card came out.

The colors are nice and sharp.  I like what the artist did with the detail work of Mays’ uniform and glove as well.  And the centering is perfect!!

Eric Davis 1987 Donruss Highlights – ‘April Player Of The Month’

Eric Davis 1987 Donruss Highlights – ‘April Player Of The Month’

We all know who wound up with the MVP Award in the National League in 1987.

But, Andre definitely had some competition that year.  His two biggest challengers for the award came from St. Louis in the form of Ozzie Smith and from Cincinnati with Eric Davis.

This card celebrates Davis’ winning of the ‘Player Of The Month’ in April of the 1987 baseball season.  Davis got off to a super start to the year and deservedly won the award.

Have a look:

Happy Birthday AJ Burnett!!!

Happy Birthday AJ Burnett!!!

AJ Burnett turns 36 years old today.

I’ve had the pleasure of watching most of AJ Burnett’s career.

It has been nice to see Burnett reach some pretty impressive baseball milestones.  Obviously, his Yankees team won the 2009 World Series and AJ played a crucial part in their playoff run.  He also had a solid season in 2012 with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

As a Marlin he did not participate in their 2003 World Series title run, but AJ thew a no-hitter for the Marlins and I still get chills watching the final out play out in anticipation of the team celebrating his efforts.

Happy Birthday AJ!!!

Special Delivery Courtesy Of Hall Of Famer, Mr. Fergie Jenkins!!!

I took part in a private signing with Fergie Jenkins in December.  Through his foundation, I was able to ship my items in early before the event with the promise that my items would be signed for me and then quickly returned.

I sent two items, one if which would complete a project for me, and was hoping for the best.

Well, fast forward 30 days later, and my items have been returned to me.  And they were handled perfectly.  And I am very, very happy that I took part in this event.

Come check out my haul:

First up, a signed Boston Red Sox mini helmet:

Oh, yeah.  Perfectly signed in Silver with Fergie’s HOF inscription.  This is the final mini helmet for my Jenkins collection.  I now have his signature on a Phillies, Cubs, Rangers, and Red Sox mini helmet.

Up next is the signed baseball…

I asked for Fergie to inscribe his career strikeout total of 3,192.  It looks great and will accompany my ‘284 Wins’ ball very nicely.

I am very pleased with how my items came out.  Each items makes a great addition to my ‘Ultimate Jenkins’ collection.

The Fergie Jenkins Foundation handled my items very well, and I am already seeking the next round of items that I can send their way!!!

Thanks for reading.
