2012 Topps ‘Mound Dominance’ Subset – Card #MD-10 – Armando Galarraga, Detroit Tigers

I really like the ‘Mound Dominance’ subset that Topps included in their 2012 base set.  The cards are sharp, the graphics are solid, and I am a sucker for cards that pay homage to a historic baseball event.

The ‘Mound Dominance’ set recalls 15 amazing pitching performances in major league history.

This is card#10 – Armando Galarraga, Detroit Tigers

ARMANDO GALARRAGA

The Dominant Day – June 2, 2010.  We all vividly  remember this day.  Headed into the ninth inning, and the final out of the game, Armando Galarraga was pitching a perfect game against the Cleveland Indians.  Unfortunately, a missed call by the umpire cost Galarraga the game, and a chance to make history.  Still, he threw a complete game, allowed just one hit, and struck out three.

Progress – 10/15
