Ernie Banks 2003 Upper Deck Sweet Spot Classic Chicago Cubs Manufactured Patch Card

Ernie Banks 2003 Upper Deck Sweet Spot Classic Chicago Cubs Manufactured Patch Card

Would you believe that I paid just $1.99 for this card?  Well, I did.  Actually, I paid $2.49 if you divide my shipping costs and apply them equally to the four cards that I bought from this seller.

When I found this one, I thought that the Buy It Now price was a mistake.  Maybe the seller put the wrong price?  Maybe he missed a digit?  But, after searching his other listings, I saw that most cards were priced to sell, and I pounced!!

I picked up four cards in total, all at $1.99 each!

And this one of Banks looks great.  It comes from the 2003 Upper Deck Sweet Spot Classics set.  And it features a very nice, and bright Chicago Cubs patch as the centerpiece.

This card is uber-thick, quite possibly the thickest card in my collection…

Nice, huh??

Wait until you see the other cards that I picked up from this seller.  You’re gonna love it – I know that I do!!!

Fergie Jenkins 2005 Upper Deck Hall Of Fame Baseball – Green

Fergie Jenkins 2005 Upper Deck Hall Of Fame Baseball – Green

This is the third card from the Upper Deck Hall Of Fame Baseball set that I have added to my Fergie Jenkins collection.

The first card was Silver.

The next one was Gold.

And now, I have the Green!!!

The card is serial numbered as 73/200 and it is the exact same as the other versions.

But, as you guessed it, the card features a Green border.

This baseball card is a work of art!!

VINTAGE MARICHAL

Some of the many reasons that I like this one:

  • vintage look
  • great image selection
  • commemorates a significant event
  • strong colors
  • sweet logo
  • clever use of pennant for subset title

Love This Card!!!

Alan Trammell 1987 Donruss

Alan Trammell 1987 Donruss

The 1987 baseball season was Alan Trammell’s 11th year in the big leagues.  By the time that the season started, Trammell was already a 3-time All-Star and winner of 4 Gold Glove Awards.

My favorite stat from Trammell’s 1987 baseball season – .343!

Trammell his .343 during the 1987 season, a career high!  In 151 games played, Trammell collected 205 hits over the course of the season.  Trammell finished in second place for the American League’s batting title in 1987 to Wade Boggs, who hit an amazing .363.

My 55th Marlins Team Set Caused Me To Add A 2nd Binder To The Collection….

My 55th Marlins Team Set Caused Me To Add A 2nd Binder To The Collection….

I knew that this day was coming, I just did not know that it would come so soon.

I have collected 55 different Marlins team sets thus far, and that number is just too large to be held by a single 3-ring binder.

As you can see, my current binder was starting to outgrow its intended use.

Marlins Album 1

So, on the way to work this morning, I made a quick detour and stopped at the Wal-Mart that is nestled perfectly between my son’s school and my workplace.

I picked up another binder and immediately got to work to make this a more manageable situation.

I opted for a Black binder, to stay true to the origin of my Marlins passion.

Here is what my team set collection looks like now:

Marlins album 2

A lot easier to handle, and a lot lighter too!

The sets are still in year order, and then alphabetized by brand.  I opted to make a split pretty much went right down the middle.  This allows for me to still go after everything I want and expand my collection the way that I intend to.

Oh, and since you know that I am super-organized, I had to go the extra step by tagging these two albums properly!!!

Marlins album 3

As this collection grows, another album is sure to come.

Hopefully I can find an Orange or Teal one!!
