Bryce Harper 2013 Topps Gypsy Queen ‘Glove Stories’
I know that in the past Topps’ Gypsy Queen sets have featured subsets of cards in which the theme has a defensive presence.
And I have to say that I really like this theme – I enjoy seeing other aspects of the game given attention. And the 2013 subset ‘Glove Stories’ does just that.
This is the card of Bryce Harper from that set.
What is really fun about these cards is that many of the shots used for these cards had made some type of highlights show on either MLB Network or ESPN over the years.
So, when encountering on of these cards, it kind of takes us back to the exact moment in which we witnessed the play.

Reggie Jackson 2003 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites
Now talk about a great image!!!
I’ve been in a bit of a funk of adding new cards to my collection that don’t feature the kinds of images that I like the best.
Well, that streak comes to an end with the addition of this Reggie Jackson card to my collection.
Call it a ‘Slump Buster’ – this card from the 2003 Topps All-Time Fan Favorites set is perfect!
Have a look:
Featuring the 1980 Topps design, this card captures Reggie in the midst of a huge swing. And the angles of the both the position and team name banners work perfectly with the angles of Reggie’s leg and arm – AWESOME!!!!

George Brett 1985 Fleer
Just imagine how much nicer this card would look if the photographer had zoomed out just a bit more….
Show me the full bats…
Show me Brett standing in the on-deck circle…
Show me a glimpse of the stadium that Brett is playing in so we can set the scene…
Tell us more of the story!!

2008 Topps Allen & Ginter Florida Marlins Team Set
Admittedly, I am not a big Allen & Ginter fan. For me, I just don’t find the design of the cards to be that appealing. Personally, I enjoy action images with strong backgrounds.
Still, of the modern A&G releases, I will say that the 2008 set is the best looking one of the bunch.
The Marlins’ team set from that issue offers us just six cards – but the set does offer quite a bit of variety. From posed portraits to action – the set does offer us a nice assortment of poses and views to enjoy.
Have a look:
Of the six cards, my favorite card is the Hanley Ramirez with the Andre Miller coming in next. I like the action of the Ramirez card and the background color used offers a nice effect. The card of Miller is not one that would normally appeal to me, but the look Miller is offering up is unique.
