Andre Dawson 2013 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions – Base Mini
Another ‘mini’ for the ‘Ultimate Dawson’ collection today. This one comes from the 2013 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions set.
And like the Morgan card that I showed off earlier, this card also features the same image as the standard sized base card of Andre Dawson from the set.
Here is the card:
As for the card, I don’t really care for it too much. Like the base card that I showed off a few weeks ago, I just find it to be truly boring.
No offense to my favorite player, but Upper Deck’s choice of images to feature is certainly not complementary.

Joe Morgan 2013 Topps Allen & Ginter – Mini Base
Man, there are a lot of Joe Morgan cards for me to go after that are part of 2013 sets. The good news is that with so much out there that ‘I Need’, I can be very selective as to when I buy and how much I pay.
My latest purchase of ‘Little Joe’ for my player collection is the base mini card from this year’s Allen & Ginter set.
The card features the same image as his regular-sized, base card but is cut in the size of a mini.
Check it out:
I think that my Morgan collection will grow very nicely in the coming months – as I mentioned before, there are a ton of modern issues that I can go after to build this PC up nicely!

Reggie Jackson 1982 Topps All-Star
This is the third card of Reggie Jackson from the 1982 Topps baseball card set that I have added to my collection.
I had already owned his base card and the ‘In Action’ card. This is the card that celebrates Reggie being an American League All-Star.
Have a look:
I like the card, and I like the angle of the shot. I just wish is was a bit more zoomed-out so we could see a little more of the background.
Show us the full bat, give me more of the stadium, and give us the full helmet….

Fergie Jenkins 2013 Panini Cooperstown ‘International Play’
I have finally started picking up all of the cards from the new 2013 Panini Cooperstown set that feature the guys that I go after.
Among that group is Fergie Jenkins, and he is featured in the set twice.
I picked up both cards in a single purchase on Sportlots.com recently and will show you the second card at another time.
The card below is from the ‘International Play’ subset and it proudly boasts that Jenkins is the first Canadian-born player to be elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Check it out:
I have learned a lot about Mr. Jenkins over the years. And I know that he has a tremendous amount of pride in being from Canada. Something tells me that he would like this card!!!

2013 Topps Archives ‘Tallboys’ Subset – Eric Davis
With the new 2013 Topps Archives baseball card set release, the ‘Mini Tallboys’ subset is easily one of the best parts of the issue.
The cards from this subset offer a very basic, but throwback feel that screams vintage. The set is 40 cards deep and offers a nice mixture of current players, stars from the 1980′s, and Hall of Fame legends.
This is the Eric Davis card from the set:
One of my favorite outfielders from the 1980’s, there was nothing that Eric Davis could not do. His blend of extreme speed on the base paths and explosive bat speed made him a threat each and every time he went to the plate.
Tough injuries and battles with cancer derailed and shortened Davis’ major league career. And while he still had a very good career, including winning the 1990 World Series, the end of his playing days left many of his fans feeling as if he could have accomplished quite a bit more had he been healthy for his whole career.

Rick Burleson was the first Boston Red Sox shortstop to win the Gold Glove Award for defensive excellence. The 4-time All-Star won the award in 1979.
