Dustin Pedroia 2012 Bowman Platinum
One of the things that I like most about Dustin Pedroia is that as he has become a superstar in the game, he has shown no desire to ‘soften’ his approach to defense.
At the conclusion of the 2013 baseball season, Pedroia was named as a Defensive Player Of The Year, a first but well deserved award for the scrappy defender.
In 8 major league seasons, Pedroia has compiled a fielding percentage of .991, and has continued to improve season after season. In 2013, he had a career high percentage of .993 and committed just five errors in 160 games.
Pedroia’s card from the 2012 Bowman Platinum card set shows him off playing ‘D’ while at second base. It’s a nice look at his concentration while making another play.
