Joe Morgan 2013 Panini Golden Age – Mini – Baseball Caramels Back
This is my third card of Joe Morgan from this set. I simply cannot get enough of these cards – and of all of the ones that I have seen since it was released, I find the card of Joe Morgan to be the best of the bunch.
And as a Morgan collector, that makes this fan & collector very happy.
This card is a mini version of the base card, and it features an alternate back – Baseball Caramels.
Here is a look – both front and back.
I told you it was sweet!
A huge touch of vintage was thrown into this set, and the back of the card screams ‘tobacco card’. Additionally, the front image is superb – and trust me when I tell you that this set has its fair share of ‘stinkers’ that grace the front of the card.
Joe Morgan got lucky with the image used on the front of this card. And the people who collects cards of Mr. Morgan got lucky as well!!

2013 Topps Update ‘Postseason Heroes’ Subset – Mariano Rivera
The 2013 Topps Update baseball card set includes a subset tagged as ‘Postseason Heroes. And with that theme, you would expect to find cards of modern players like Albert Pujols, Edgar Renteria, and Pablo Sandoval but none of these guys made the checklist.
That does leave room for some nice surprises…
This is the card of Mariano Rivera from the set:
Mariano Rivera’s postseason resume is incredibly impressive. In 19 big league seasons, he made it to the postseason 16 times. He has played in 7 World Series match-ups, winning 5 titles.
Rivera has a postseason record of 8-1 with 42 saves. He has a postseason career ERA of 0.70 and has allowed a total of 13 runs in 141 innings of work. He has struck out 110 batters in those 141 innings while striking out 21.

Giancarlo Stanton 2012 Topps Finest
While focusing on the new 2013 Topps Finest release so I could add cards of the guys I collect to my collection, I realized that I did not have a single card from the 2012 issue in my collection for any of the guys that I collect.
So, I paused my pursuit of the 2013 cards for a moment and grabbed one from the 2012 set.
Have a look:
I like it – and I was able to snag it for a very affordable price.
I’ll have to sit down and review the full checklist to see what other cards from the set I may be missing, but I was happy to quickly and affordably add this one of Stanton to my PC.

The first player elected into the Hall of Fame that batted right-handed during his career while playing defense left-handed is Rickey Henderson.

2013 Topps Heritage High-Numbers Miami Marlins Team Set
As soon as the 2013 Heritage High-Numbers set was released, I wanted to quickly grab the Marlins team set so I could stay on track with 2013 releases.
Unfortunately, it did not go as smoothly as I had wished.
First off, I did not realize that the set was a web-exclusive set so it was not as available to be bought as other recent releases.
And second, it was released right when Jose Fernandez started to pick up steam in the NL ROY conversations – making his rookie card from the set more sought after than other releases had been prior.
Still, patience paid off and I was finally able to land the complete set from a seller on Ebay. And I actually paid less for the whole set than what I paid for the single Fernandez card for my PC.
Have a look:
Sorry about the scan – I have a new scanner and for some reason it chopped the team name off across the top of the three cards in row #1. Trust me, all cards are in tact and mint.
