My Andre Dawson 2012 Topps Triple Threads Rainbow Is Complete!!!

My Andre Dawson 2012 Topps Triple Threads Rainbow Is Complete!!!

My friends, Triple Threads design is stellar – and their ability to make the player’s image shine among the many background colors that were available in the set really stands out.

I love the image used of Dawson for this card, and the colors of his Cubs’ uniform are represented in a bold manner.

And now, on to the single cards that make up this beautiful set:

And now, the ‘Full Rainbow’

I told you that the set was sweet – I was not kidding!

These cards are sharp, and they feel like a very high-end card.

Now that the set is complete, I am happy to put it to rest – 15 months is a very long time to chase baseball cards.

But, the chase has not deflated my desire to do it again and again and again.  On to the next one!!

Thanks for reading.

Bryce Harper 2013 Bowman – Gold Border

Bryce Harper 2013 Bowman – Gold Border

Yes, I know this set was issued months and months ago.

But, I never got around to going after some of the parallels that were offered in it.  So, while shopping on COMC.com, I checked out what they had in their inventory from this set that would fill my needs.

Card #1 from the lot that I bought, Bryce Harper’s Gold-Border card.

Have a look:

I bought more, and you’re going to have to wait to see more of it.

Do I think that the wait is worth it?  You better believe it!!!

Jose Fernandez 2013 Topps Update ‘Making Their Mark’

Jose Fernandez 2013 Topps Update ‘Making Their Mark’

Amazingly, I am still trying to catch up on all of Jose’s cards from the 2013 Topps Update set.  I have most of them, but still have some holes to fill – and a few colored parallels to chase as well.

This is Jose’s card from the ‘Making Their Mark’ subset:

It was nice to see Jose’s name on this set’s checklist when the 2013 Update set was released.  He certainly did earn the spot, and his has clearly ‘made his mark’.

This card celebrates his first major league win, a 2-0 win over the Phillies.  In the game, Fernandez went seven innings allowing just one hit while striking out 9 batters and walking one.

1977 HEADLINE: Ernie Banks Elected To Baseball Hall Of Fame

1977 HEADLINE: Ernie Banks Elected To Baseball Hall Of Fame

‘Mr. Cub’ will always be the most popular and respected player from the Chicago Cubs organization. His 19-seasons of perfection in a Cubs uniform still remain as fond and vibrant memories for the ‘North Siders’. Banks’ 512 career home runs and season after season of MVP caliber baseball earned him a Hall of Fame induction in 1977 on the first ballot.

Ernie Banks was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on his first ballot. He received 321 of 383 votes cast.

Yessir, My Vince Coleman Player Collection Is Now Complete!!!

Friends, I am very happy to announce that after months and months of collecting, I have put all of the pieces together on another player collection.

This time around it is the collection of Cardinals’ legend – Vince Coleman!!

The collection took me a few months to put together, but it allowed for me to once again enjoy baseball cards of the 1980’s while also re-introducing some great images to me again.

Here is a picture of the full collection:

Coleman PC

And as you know, a complete collection means another ‘Fab 5′ is headed to ’30-YOC’.  Starting on Monday, I will showcase my favorite five cards from this newly completed PC.

Get ready for the show and ‘Thanks For Reading’.
