Notes From His 1975 Season: After spending the first 16 seasons of his career in Chicago with the Cubs, Williams spent the 1975 baseball season with the Oakland A’s. Playing the role of veteran leader, Williams played in 155 games for the A’s at the age of 37. He hit just .244 on the year, but was still productive as he collected 127 hits while scoring 68 runs and driving in 81.
Notes From Career: A Hall of Famer, Billy Williams was one of the best pure hitters during the 1960’s. A career .290 hitter with 2,711 hits on his resume, Williams was excitement at the plate. He connected for 434 doubles and 426 home runs while also scoring 1,410 runs and driving in 1,475.
Williams is a 6-time All-Star and was the 1961 Rookie Of The Year. He was voted into the Hall of Fame in 1987.
