Florida Marlins 1994 Pinnacle Team Set

Florida Marlins 1994 Pinnacle Team Set

The 1994 Florida Marlins were far from a competitive team, but they did have quite a bit of spunk and personality.

Evidence of such is in their 1994 Pinnacle team set.

Have a look:

These guys sure do look like they’re having a blast out there, don’t they?!?!

Man I miss those Teal jerseys.

Maybe the Marlins will bring that back in some kind of ‘Throwback’ effort someday.  I’d be game for it!!!

I have a small stack of cards from this ‘PLayer Timelines’ set and I wish that I had more.  I like the homage that the card plays to the player’s full career, and I like that the card features multiple team logos.

Here is the Reggie Jackson card from the set.

It’s not often that a card of Reggie Jackson that features an image of him sporting his California Angels uniform takes center stage over an image of him in his A’s or Yankees uniform, but I dig it.

And while Reggie may not have been as productive while with the Angels as he was with either team, the swing shown on the card shows that he still had some pop!!

1991 HEADLINE: Andre Dawson Joins Elite “300/300 Club”

1991 HEADLINE:  Andre Dawson Joins Elite “300/300 Club”

On this day in 1991, Andre Dawson stole the 200th bases of his career in a game against the Mets in New York.

The steal came in the top of the 4th inning after a single off of pitcher Ron Darling.  Dawson would score in the inning when Damon Berryhill connected for a double.  The Cubs won the game 4-3.

The steal in this game gave Dawson 300 for his career to match his 300+ home runs.  At the time of this feat, only two other players in major league history accomplished the same feat – Willie Mays and Bobby Bonds.

Congratulations to ‘The Hawk’ and ‘Happy Anniversary’!!!
